Jack James, long time Rockwall county resident, has announced his candidacy for Rockwall County Justice of the Peace, Precincts 1 & 4 in the March Republican Primary.
“My goal is to serve the people of Royse City, Fate and Rockwall in an honest and fair manner,” Mr. James states. “I have no hidden agenda and no desire for personal gain, but I do have a set of skills and values which I believe will serve this great county for which I feel such a strong commitment.”
James and his family have deep roots in the community, having lived in Rockwall county for over 30 years. They are members of Lake Pointe Church. Jack’s wife of 31 years, Judy, has been a Rockwall ISD teacher for more than 14 years. His daughter in law, Lindsey Qualls James is also a Rockwall teacher. His son, Justin James is a firefighter for the City of Mesquite, and daughter Jennifer James is a CPA/Auditor in Dallas.
A firefighter for the City of Garland for 34 years, Mr. James has spent the last 15 years serving as an Assistant Chief. For five of those years he oversaw a 15 million dollar operating budget. Currently, he is directly responsible for the day to day Fire and Emergency Medical Services operations for 11 fire stations.
James graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education and has completed the Executive Fire Officer Program at the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Maryland. James holds a Master Firefighter Certification from the Texas Commission on Fire protection.
“I know what it takes to run an effective and efficient agency,” Mr. James states. “I know how to resolve conflict, deal with complaints and make personnel and fiscal decisions that affect many people with different points of view. As Rockwall County continues to grow, these skills will directly transfer to the role of Justice of the Peace. I have been a public servant my entire adult life and would be honored to serve the people of Royse City, Fate and Rockwall.
